Our Trails

The Forest Toddle 1KM is located largely within sight of the Event Centre and is aimed at the youngest participants, 3 to 7 years old. It consists of 80% grassed surface and 20% single- track.

The Forest Adventure 3KM course is for families and primary aged children. It consists of 70% single-track and 30% grassed surface. The trail surface is some of the best local single-track trail available.

Course Notes:

  • Start and Finish on the Rugby Club field
  • Climb the hill on Mountain bike style single-track
  • Run along the heights of the Bantry Bay area
  • Complete another section of fire trail and single-track from the Ararat Reserve area to the finish

The Forest Chase 8KM course is aimed at children in senior primary and above, and more serious runners. It consists of 50% single-track, 30% fire trail, 15% grassed surface and 5% quiet suburban road. The trail surface is some of the best local single-track trail available with stunning views and a feeling of remoteness with some challenges.

Course Notes:

  • Start and Finish on the Rugby Club field
  • Climb the hill on mountain bike style single-track
  • Run along the heights of the Bantry Bay area
  • Cross Ararat Reserve and then run along Bantry Bay
  • Continue to Engravings Track to Seaforth Oval
  • Descend Timbergetters Trail
  • Follow Bluff Trail along the waters edge and then ascend back to Ararat Reserve
  • Complete another short section of fire trail and single-track from the Ararat Reserve area to the finish
  • Finish on Rugby Club fields

The Forest Challenge 11KM course is aimed at more serious participants. It consists of 40% single-track, 40% fire trail, 15% grassed surface and 5% quiet road. The trail surface is some of the best local single-track trail available and is fairly challenging with stunning views and a feeling of remoteness in the first half. The run home includes easier fire trail.

Course Notes:

  • Start and Finish on the Rugby Club field
  • Climb the hill on mountain bike style single-track
  • Run along the heights of the Bantry Bay area
  • Cross Ararat Reserve and then run along Bantry Bay
  • Continue to Engravings Track to Seaforth Oval
  • Descend Timbergetters Trail
  • Follow Bluff Trail along the waters edge
  • Leave the 8km trail by turning left at Natural Bridge
  • Track for a technical descent
  • Run an ‘out and back’ fire trail section from just after the 7km point to the southern end of the Cook Street Trail
  • Continue north east along the Currie Rd Track to Currie Rd and on to the finish
